In 1963 the Blue Devil mascot was changed to the Golden Warrior.

In 1995 the "golden warrior" name remained but the mascot was changed from an Indian to an eagle. Tom Meyers, head of the Andover Education Associaton, campaigned to change the mascot because the Indian symbol was "hurtful" to Native Americans. The eagle was voted the new mascot on Feb. 1996. A new logo was designed by Bill Wolfendale, a graphic artist. The eagle appears above and in front of the lettering Andover. The school colors remain blue and gold.
