- He taught jazz at Wilson High School in Portland for 7 years.
- In 2001 he started the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra.
- In 2006 he released his first CD Azure with the Ben Medlar Trio. He also plays bass in Balance by the Michelle Medlar Quartet.
