In 1951 the Andover Board of Trade sponsored the Andover Holiday Decoration Program.
The Andover Christmas Parade (also known as the Santa Parade)began in 1955 when Fire Chief Henry Hilton and 3 other firefighters: William Downs, Gordon Coutts, and Willard Patterson, decorating the fire house and parading Santa through Andover. It is now organized by the Firefighters Relief Association.
