In 1921 William Wood, president of the American Woolen Company bought the Cuttyhunk Fishing Club. Mr. Wood had been a member of the club, which had been selling the property of the club. Mr. Wood's son sold many of the houses after Wood's death in 1925. The original clubhouse sold in 1943 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore.
