The following is a timeline of events that took place at this location:
- In 2006, the IRS announced that 900 jobs would be cut at the Andover location by 2009 as the result of an increase in electronic form submission.
- In 2007, it was announced that closer to 2,000 of the employees at the facility who handle paper returns would be let go by 2009 due to increases in e-filing.
- In 2009, the Andover IRS center stated that they would no longer process returns after September of that year.
