Crafts in the Park is a fundraiser run entirely by volunteers. All proceeds from booth fees go to providing scholarships for local students participating in international exchange programs and support for families hosting students from abroad.  The event has taken place, usually on the Saturday before Mother's Day, since 1975.

  • Ben Medler graduated from Andover High School, where he was a member of the jazz band, in 1991
  • He studied at Berklee College of Music for 2 years and attended jazz workshops in Portland, Oregon, where he met his wife, Michelle.
  • He taught jazz at Wilson High School in Portland for 7 years.
  • In 2001 he started the Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra.
  • In 2006 he released his first CD Azure with the Ben Medlar Trio. He also plays bass in the CD Balance by the Michelle Medlar Quartet.
