Janos Vajda, an Andover resident, was shot by Dr. James Cartell in a hospital room of the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts on February 23, 1999. Dr. Cartell was convicted of voluntary manslaughter on June 23, 2000. He was sentenced on July 19, 2000.
