[1] [2] In January of 1979, the congregation was granted a construction permit for a new property on Hagget's Pond Road in Andover. In November 1979, the congregation's Torah was hand carried by relay runners to a new house of worship in Andover. [3] The new temple opened Friday November 22, 1979." [4]

Rabbi Robert Goldstein of Temple Emanuel was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Service Award in 2004.
