Ballard Holt was the first librarian at Memorial Hall Library. He served as librarian and custodian from 1872-1906 when Edna A. Brown of Newport, RI was named as his successor. Ballard Holt was born on March 20, 1837 in Chelmsford, MA and died in Andover, MA on October 10, 1925.
