Helium is an online reference website that is dependent on user-generated content. It was created by Mark Ranalli, who is president and CEO of the company. The offices for Helium.com are located at 200 Brickstone Square. The website is based on the same type of Web 2.0 blueprint as Wikipedia [1] and About.com [2].
In the first three months following the site launch on October 9, 2006, the community already featured approximately 100,000 articles written by nearly 9,000 writers.
