Thomas Rice, an Andover resident since 1993, wrote Far From the Land: An Irish Memoir. His mother, a hard working woman raised 6 children alone, yet her home was the center of the neighborhood. Thomas, who left Ireland at 16, fills his book with memories of his youth.
