Illustrator William H. Foster, 1886 - 1941, works were featured in several magazines including, Saturday Evening Post and Harper's Monthly. He was the editor of two magazines: National Sportsman and Hunting and Fishing. and a pioneer in the development of skeet shooting. Laterin life he painted bird dogs. The Purina Top Coverdog of the Year Award is presented in his honor.
His home at 71 Chestnut Street is listed in the National Register of Historic Places in Andover.
