Several Andover residents were killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill:

  • Samuel Bailey
  • William Haggett
  • Joseph Chandler
  • Philip Abbot

Two Black soldiers from Andover fought in the battle: Philip Abbot who was killed, and Salem Poor in whose honor a commerative stamp was issued.
