The Historical Commission completed a Preservation Plan for the town of Andover on August 7, 1980. The document affirms the Commissions's "general policy of preserving, protecting, and developing the historical, architectual, and archeological assests of Andover." (page 3)

The survey is volume 17 of the Andover Historical Survey.

A second plan is being drawn up in conjunction with Dean Baumeister, IT Memorial Hall Library, in 2007.
