The Andover Historical Society was given a "centennial quilt" in 1968. The quilter, Mrs. Henry Wheeler, corresponded with the postmaster general of every state in the Union in 1876, requesting a swatch of calico with which to build the quilt. All 38 postmasters responded. The Society has the quilt and the letters Wheeler received. They also won a 1808 bridal quilt and a quilt made of patches depicting the flags from around the world.
