In 2009 Mohammad Enayat opened Sotherland & Co., which sold handmade Persian and Oriental rugs, at 44 Main Street. In December of 2011 the contents of the store was seized by the Essex County Sheriff for non-payment of rent. A few days later the seizure order was lifted and the owner allowed three days to clear out all merchandise.
