Illustrator William H. Foster, 1886 - 1941, works were featured in several magazines including, Saturday Evening Post and Harper's Monthly and Scientific American.  He was the editor of two magazines: ''National Sportsman'' and ''Hunting and Fishing''. and a pioneer in the development of skeet shooting. Laterin life he painted bird dogs. The Purina Top Coverdog of the Year Award is presented in his honor.
