[1] Also, in 1920, a plot plan by Andover civil engineer and surveyor Horace Hale Smith was filed with the Essex County Registry of Deeds depicting details for several parcels of land at Lowell Junction in the Ballardvale section of Andover where New England Plywood would eventually set up shop. [2]. Between 1921-1923, John Proctor was granted two patents, one for manufacturing plywood containers and one for manufacturing plywood tubes.
