Benjamin T Farnum was born on December 27, 1746 and died 1833 at the age of 87. He married his second cousin Dolly Holt on November 26, 1767. He was on of three men from Andover (along with Benjamin Ames and Charles Furbush)who lead the fight at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Farnum was commissioned in the Continental army as commander of the 11th Massachusetts Regiment which served with Washington at Valley Forge. He resigned his commission in 1779.
