- Scanlon Hardware closed in August 1990 after 18 years in Andover. At the time of its closure it was located on 10 Main Street in the Barnard Building. William Scanlon, the owner, had bought and renovated the building about 5 years earlier, but was unable to find enough other occupants and was under threat of foreclosure.
- The earlier location of Scanlon Hardware was at 45 Main Street. Thompson Office Products moved into this location when Scanlon moved to 10 Main Street.
