Foster's Pond was probably named for Andrew Foster, the 22nd man to settle Andover. The entrance to the pond is at 491 S. Main Street along Rt. 28. The size is 170 acres. Trails around the pond are known as the Goldsmith Woodlands and are maintained by AVIS (Andover Village Inprovement Society). Andover Trail Guide, p. 11.

Foster's Pond Island was aquired at the 2002 Town Meeting as conservation land.

The Glenwood Road basin or "Dug Pond" cleanup project for fanwart was completed in 2006.
