Mary French was the chairperson of the Andover Selectman when she died on September 24, 2001. After she died Ted Teichert became the chairperson.

The Andover Trails Comittee dedicated a portion of the Bay Circuit Trail to Mary. The area is located near Korinthian Way. The entire Bay Circuit Trail runs from Ipswich to the Duxbury/Kingston shore.
