The Shawsheen Luncheonette is located on Lowell Street in the Shawsheen portion of Andover. It was opened in 1956 by Roland Boisvert, who still owns the building. Amy and Bryan Guay have owned and operated the Luncheonette since 1989. The employees all wear the restaurant's signature tie-dyed t-shirts while working.

In 2005, the Shawsheen Luncheonette was the first restaurant in Andover to participate in a specific Andover Health Department program by offering immunizations to the entire staff against Hepatitis A.
