Andover Artist - Howard Ames Coon

Howard Ames Coon was borne on May 7, 1890 in DeRuter, New York, and moved to Ballardvale in 1930 - later moving to Gloucester. He taught art and Abbott Academy. Several of Howard Ames Coon's (1890-1997) watercolors hang in Memorial Hall Library, including Benjamin Abbot's Homestead Rose Cottage and Ballardvale. Coon studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and painted both watercolors art oil.
