On April 17, 1986, Gene Durand was paralyzed as a nail from a stud gun in the Barbershop in Shawsheen Square.  Mr.  Durand was getting hair cut, when a nail from a stud gun was shot through the wall and into Mr. Durand.

In April of 1988 there was a 15 million dollar settlement for the accident.
