Merrimack Junior Theatre

• Merrimack Junior Theatre was started by West Elementary School music teacher Josie Walker in 1989.

• Although it was successful, Josie Walker wanted to start a new life as a grandmother and decided to close the organization in 2011.

• Merrimack Junior Theatre costumes and sets were given to

Andover Youth Services.

• 3 former Merrimack Junior Theatre board members Chris Cristoforo, Kathy Abisso, and Nancy Vogler decided, along with Andover Youth Services, to revive it in 2012 and rename it AYS Andover Theatre Works!

• A contest to create a new logo was announced in 2012.
