Andover Business - Hewlett Packard Financial Services Remarketing
In 1972, Hewlett Packard announced plans to build an electronics division in Andover. [1] The Hewlett-Packard Financial Services Remarketing division was located on Dascomb Road in Andover. The facility specialized in the repairing, recycling and repurposing of materials and components from computers that no longer work or have become obsolete in the ever-growing technology market. They are able to separate out hardware components in order to build new machines. This became a particularly useful service after Hurricane Katrina left so many people in New Orleans, LA without access to communication options and technologies.
In November, 2005, Hewlett-Packard put an 82 acre plot of land up for sale on the Andover/Tewksbury town line at 18 Frontage Road. The land, which was zoned for industrial use, was marked for sale at $15 million.
