Musicians and Musical Groups - Simple Sam

• In 2000 The Simple Sam Band was formed when members Matt Malloy and Vic Lanio, guitarists, Matt Hogan,drummer, and Sam Silverman, bassist,were in middle school together in Andover.

• Their jazz and funk-spiked music is inspired by the sounds of Cake, Incubus, and Rage Against the Machine.

• In March 2005 the Simple Sam Band played with Tom Rush at the Rogers Center.

• In 2005 the band members graduated from Andover High and the band split up.
